No Sugar Experiment – Day One?
So, for a while now Jannette and I have been talking about going without added sugars for a month and decided that May 2019 would be a good month to do it. Well, we got to May 1st and found out that maybe we weren’t totally prepared to start. I mean, we could have been in a worse position, but we started finding out that all sorts of things we had in our kitchen had added sugars in them, including in dried fruit, bread, ham, etc. This included bread that said “Healthy” on the label and gave off all the cues of being a down-home, sugar-free loaf.
I did pretty good throughout the day having no added sugar, but I did have an English muffin that said its amount of sugar per serving was less than one gram, which to me is practically nothing but Jannette says it’s still aded sugar. So, anyways, we are trying to finish off some perishable stuff like that first before we dive into the experiment even more.
